They Say It's Our Birthdays!

Well, tomorrow is Deb's 54th birthday, and saturday is my 58th birthday. Can't celebrate too much since I am still a gimp. Have gotten the knee to a bit more than 90 degrees ROM, and it is pretty comfortable getting that far now. Have another appointment for next thursday. What do you want to bet that he has another surgery again and cancels it? Arrgghhh. Anyway, I still keep the hope alive that I will have a good period once I hit that 60 to 64 year age group. We shall see.
I was talking to my good friend Little "E" the other day about all of the current technological innovations that we have today. I was trying to get him to buy a new TV and the new HP laptop with the 17.3" LED display and built in blue ray disk player. Now "E", like me, is an old geezer who isn't like these younguns with their intergoogles, face tubes, and their tweetalk. But, he does seem more resistant to embrace the variety of stunning technology that is available today. Now the most common reason people resist change in general is that they like what is routine and comfortable. There is also a resistance to the learning that accompanies new technologies. What is worrysome about this, is that technological change is both quick, and built upon previous knowledge and experience. So, if you don't learn to use one level of technology, you often don't get to move comfortably into another innovation. Another friend of mine, Rick, is a prolific writer and a funny fellow on many levels, and I have been trying to get him to start his own blog. The "Geezer Files" seems an appropriate title. His concern again is learning how to do it. Being retired like me, he has the time to do it, and certainly the mental acumen. Creating such a blog would be another creative outlet for him which would enhance his knowledge at the same time. Anyhow, enough of this nonsense for now. I need to practice what I preach, and try to learn some new stuff myself today!!

Did nurse debbie bake a cake? I suppose it took quite a bit of driving from store to store to accumulate that many candles......
