Saw two interesting things over the weekend that somehow, in my mind, are linked. Now I don't want to end up like Glen Becks with his madness board where he tries to link crazy shit into a conspiracy theorem. First, On October 20th, Brian Griffiths, a British Goldman executive, speaking in St. Paul's Cathedral, and reading from a prepared speech, said that "The injunction of Jesus to love others as we would love ourselves is an endorsement of self interest", and that "we have to tolerate inequality as a way to achieving greater prosperity and opportunity for all". Hmmnn. Reagan would be proud. God's own trickle down thesis on prosperity. Those loaves and fishes must have been a kind of Consolidated Debt Obligation Scheme where we create things out of the air! In a similar vein, with the release of the movie 2012, we are focused on those whacky Mayans and their end of time prophecy for December 21st 2012. Now these were folks who thought that the sun was a god, and that human sacrifice was what powered it and kept it going. For a people that saw the big catastrophe coming our way in a few years, they sure didn't see the demise of their own civilization. So, I think that we need to create a new millennium edition bible that includes all of the things that we have learned that must be included to make better sense of our religious beliefs. The new bible must include Jesus riding his dinosaur, selling CDO's to the Romans; reminding us that all homosexuals must be sacrificed when the sun reaches its solstice in order to allow the rapture to occur and the believers to rise into the kingdom of heaven........So there you have it! No news on the knee front, but as for me, I still believe!!
