Corporatocracy Wins Again!!

Last evening, as the final action by the Finance Committee in their deliberations on health care reform, they refused to even vote on the Wyden amendment. This amendment, which would effect all of the 200 million americans who get their health care from their employer, would have allowed for vouchers that would let americans have a competitive option in selecting their health care providers. This is the only health care amendment that has been attempted that would actually provide health care insurance competition and lower the cost of health care for americans. So who lobbied against such an amendment? Business and Labor both. Interesting. Business used to say that being involved in the business of managing health care was anti competitive and hurt their ability to compete with the rest of the world, where no other industrialized nation attaches their giant welfare state health system to employers! Now they have realized that since insurance companies won't cover people with pre-existing conditions, or their family members, their employees are afraid to leave them for better paying jobs or to start entrepreneurial enterprises because they are trapped by health care. And unions, which have done collective bargaining for years focusing on health care benefits, are afraid that they will lose membership if such an amendment passed, also lobbied against it. Small businesses, the so called growth of the american economy, pay three times as much for their health coverage for their employees, continue to loose any purchasing power due to this. So, this so called engine of growth in america gets stunted again. Where will the new jobs come from in this economy. We need to grow 150,000 jobs a year just to manage population growth, much less to start cracking into the millions of jobs we have lost since the recession has begun. Our politicians continue to babble about all the isms that they really don't even understand; socialism, marxism, communism, etc, while none of those same politicians who are ass lickers to corporate america ever bring up the real ism destroying democracy and america, CORPORATISM!!! We have yet to effect any reform on financial theft, military corporate rape, health insurance company murder, and what will be our true demise, the corporate destruction of our environment. If you are considering having children, take a gun to your genitals.....
