Well, they cut off the cast today and sent me for x-rays. Went back to the doc for the news. Both fractures are healing on schedule, but still have 6 more weeks before they are safe to do much on. I was given this beautiful boot that I get to wear 23 1/2 hours a day. I get to take it off to shower. For now, I am supposed to keep using the crutches until I can gradually just walk with the boot. The damn boot has a plastic sole that is 3 inches thick, so again, hard to find a left shoe to keep things even.Weighs more than the damn cast! My knee sucks, and I can bend it about 30 degrees or so right now before the pain sets in. If I can't get it to at least 90 degrees in a few weeks, I will call the Doc and bug him about an MRI. I am in totally new water and have no real guide about how this should be going. My Doc is Russian, and I needed Terrible there to translate for me. He was not very helpful, and my Internet searches have not been too helpful either. Not feeling too happy right now. Didn't expect to be doing much for a while, but this will be a much longer process than I had first imagined. Took down my poll on when I might be running. Hope now to be walking in January next year. CRAP! My job now is to do as much as I can by myself to take the preasure off of my bride. She has struggled enough over the past 6 weeks. Oh, and sister Susie, I know you're out there. You're on your own till 2010! The nice news is that I got to ride in the backseat of Deb's new car today. Very nice. She is enjoying hell out of it and knows how to work all of the tech stuff. Glad she likes it so much since I bought it on my own.....
