Will have run 5 days this week. Just worked out that way, cause I head into las cruces on monday to get the TDI its first service. Only have 4 thousand miles on the car in 10 months. Counting 4 months in cast and boot where I couldn't drive, and 5 weeks in Philly with Billy, didn't drive much in this period. Anyway, knee is probably as good as it is gonna get, which is pretty functional. Works well at all paces after about ten minutes of warm up. Big problem is if I ever trained or ran a race where there was lots of downhill. That bothers it the most. Back is good, but a ways yet from "right". Gonna give it another good 6 weeks before I decide weather to see a doc. I have been doing lots of shorter intervals in the 1 minute and 5 minute range, and a few tempo runs. Long has been only 8 miles, and that will do for the foreseeable future. I am going to test my goal of running sub age in august in two races in el paso. The first is a 5k, the second a 5 mile. To meet the goals I would need to run the projected comparisons to what a 58:45 10k would be (my age in august). According to the Mcmillan running calculator (http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm), that translates into a 28:17 5k (9:06 pace), and 46:52 5 miler (9:22). Then I will try and find a fall 10k to see if I can hit that goal. Anyway, always gotta have something to shoot for! Also bought a new pair of sunglasses to replace the ones I bought to drive out to mesquite 9 years ago. I have been eyeing the new oakley jawbones, because of the lens changing process. I really like it. Well, they now moved that technology to a slightly smaller frame, the split jacket, which debuted in may. I found a pair for 40% off at amazon, so they have been ordered. I'll give ernie or terry my old ones when I see one of them.
