My High School Gym Coach Would Be Proud!

I was never an upper body strength guy. I was built to run and sit at a desk! I have been working hard since I began using the gym to rehab after that truck hit me. After coming back from spending 5 weeks with my friend Billybob, I decided to start using a particular machine I hadn't used in the previous 8 months. It is an assisted dip machine. It has a knee pad that can be weighted to provide assistance in allowing you to complete good dips. I started a few months ago with 75 lbs. of aid to do them. I moved down from there in 15 pound increments (that is the weight of each plate) to 30 lbs. recently. After a few weeks, I was able to complete 10 good repetitions. Today began dips without the knee pad or any weighted assistance. Just hanging my body weight in the air. I was able to accomplish 3 strict repetitions. My goal is to get to 10. My gym coach would be proud. He used to run into the gym, jump up on the parallel bars, and bang out a good 20. He was an asshole, but that did impress me. Course, he was a pretty shitty runner!
