A Freakin' White Christmas!

Woke up today to a 31 degree, 75% humidity, 25 mile an hour north winds, snow covered Deming! After 17 straight days of running, the streak will end today. I have been remarkably sore during this whole month of cold temperatures and high humidity. Everything hurts including both feet and ankles, and my crashed right knee. The 10 day forecast remains cold, but clear after more snow on Christmas eve. Will do a short run tomorrow, and try and get a long run in on Christmas day. Just can't get very cooperative weather to end this year, and these body pains are definitely taking the joy out of running. Bah freakin' humbug! My boy heads to Australia today for three weeks. I hope he has the absolute time of his life. My new good friend Chris Huff was offered an assistant track and cross country job at NMSU in las cruces, so I plan to go to some of their meets next fall, and volunteer to help him with scut work. Suzi Q is recovering from her fall a week ago thursday when we got a call while eating in las cruces. She had to sit on the floor for an hour waiting for us. While she is here for the next nine days, we need to come up with ways to make her as bullet proof as possible so that she can live independently as long as possible before she makes a move to a nursing home. Of course she is counting on the end of the Mayan calender to come to her rescue and the world to end on December 21st 2012. We all better party like it's 1999!
