Fox--The Corporate Fear And Disinformation Network!

I continue to be relegated to Ultimate Fitness this week. I tried to run on the treadmill monday, and after about a mile, my knee was locked up and sore as hell. Jumped off and did my usual 20 minutes on the exercycle. I have read that a grade one ligament injury can take 6 to 8 weeks to heal, so this break from running could come close to the length of time equal to when I was run over a few years ago. That would put me back to zero and another complete restart. Detox just to Retox. Again, how many times have I done this in thirty seven years......
There are about 8 Flat Panel TV's at the Gym, but the sound is muted. You can use your ipod or my sansa clip or any other fm radio to pick up the sound if you want it. I would rather listen to music. But two of the screens have Fixed News on them and the smirking face of that corporate media whore Megyn Kelley. She is an extremely smart woman who has to dumb herself down to reach those 5th grade mental midgets she blathers to on fox. Kind of like I had to do last saturday at our HOA meeting with the huge collection of morons who live here. If you get to see Fox Noise with the sound off, you notice some things differently. They constantly have "alert" banners going across the screen for what is just banal phoney news. Their motto should change from "fair and balanced" to "be frightened and stop thinking!" The weird short narratives that scroll across the bottom are a mix of corporate spun news and idiotic right wingnut dogma. You don't really need sound at all to understand that this is a propaganda organization disguised as a news network.
The Dunning-Kruger effect, as established at Cornell thru social experiments, shows that "the unskilled suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly rating their ability much higher than average, while the highly skilled underrate their own abilities. The miscalibration of the incompetent stems from an error about the self, while the miscalibration of the highly competent stems from an error about others." Or as Charles Darwin stated, "ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge". Or as Bertrand Russell stated, "Those who feel certainty are stupid, and those that are filled with any imagination and understanding are filled with doubt and indecision". This can also be applied to all those religious fundamentalists of any stripe.....their religion precludes them from being open to any new information. They are just another closed system. So the herd grows, and the dance of the sheeple continues....
