Galen Rupp Changes Everything For U.S. Runners!
Watching Galen storm down the track to take silver in the 10,000 meters gave me my first screaming and crying moment of these Olympics. What Alberto Salazar has taught him and Mo Farrah is how to surge and sprint in distance races. That is how the Kenyans and Ethiopians run, and how medals in this event have been had over the past 20 years. Galen won the first medal in this event since billy mills won gold in 1964, and only the third medal in this event for the U.S. in 100 years. Now the excuses for the American Men's distance programs in the 5 and 10K are gone. Now we just have to get to the same place in the Marathon.......
